Dr. Monzon completed a residency in Anesthesiology with a Pain Management concentration at Seton Hall/St Joseph Hospital in Paterson, NJ, in 1990. Before his anesthesia residency, he completed four years in General Surgery at Jersey City Medical Center, Jersey City, NJ. After his residencies, Dr. Monzon practiced as an Anesthesiologist at Putnam Hospital under Putnam Anesthesia Associates for eight years. Simultaneously he founded the first Pain Clinic in Palatka, Fl. where he practiced Interventional Pain Management. He also served as Clinical Director for the Department of Anesthesiology at Putnam Community Hospital.

In 1991 Dr. Monzon founded St Augustine Pain Center in St Augustine under Putnam Anesthesia Associates. In 1999, he went into solo practice establishing Pain Management Specialists of North Fl, PA.

For the past 30 years, Dr. Monzon has focused on bringing new procedures and treatments to St John's and Putnam Counties. He was the first physician in Putnam County to implant Morphine Pump and Spinal Cord Stimulators and has utilized radiofrequency techniques for chronic knee and hip pain. Furthermore, Dr. Monzon is one of the earliest physicians trained in the use of peripheral nerve stimulation. A small electrode is placed on the peripheral nerve to control pain from the shoulders, knees, hips, and ankles.

Dr. Monzon is passionate about providing safe, evidence-based therapies, both medical and interventional. He is experienced and skilled in Musculoskeletal(MSK) Ultrasound technology. This technique offers the ability to visualize tears in the muscle and tendons and various nerve entrapments such as carpal and tarsal tunnels and the treatment of tennis and golfer's elbow. Regenerative Medicine is another innovative treatment that provides a new avenue for pain treatment possibilities. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Stem Cell Injections can enhance healing and stimulate bone and soft tissue injuries. Dr. Monzon's goal is to help his patients increase functionality and improve his patient's quality of life. He believes in a multi-disciplinary approach to pain diagnoses and treatment. He understands the importance of coordinating care with patients' primary care providers and other specialists. 

Dr. Monzon is a member of multiple professional organizations such as the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Florida Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, Academy of Integrative Pain Management, The American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. Dr. Monzon served as the President of the Florida Academy of Pain Medicine from 209-2011. He is presently a Board Member and MSK Ultrasound Instructor. and a past Delegate for the Florida Medical Association.

Dr. Monzon is in private practice and has full admitting privileges to Putnam Community Medical Center and Flagler Hospital. He is an avid golf player outside of his daily clinical care and enjoys the outdoors and fishing.
